9407如果使用IOS XE Amsterdam 17.1.x之后的版本，为什么不支持StackWise Virtual？？

因为选配引擎卡：C9400X-SUP-2，软件版本必须为17.1.x之后的，但是选择17.1.x之后的又不支持StackWise Virtual。

• The software features supported on C9400X-SUP-2 maintain parity with the existing supervisor modules, with a few exceptions.

1、如果需要使用StackWise Virtual，是不是不能使用双引擎？

2、如果两台9407都使用单引擎，组成StackWise Virtual，假设其中一台的引擎卡故障导致宕机，下联的交换机会导致长期业务中断吗？（下联交换机都是双线分别连接两台9407上）

• Cisco StackWise Virtual can be configured only on one supervisor module per chassis. You must not install two supervisor modules in each chassis used in the Cisco StackWise Virtual solution.

StackWise Virtual also incorporates many other Cisco innovations—such as Stateful Switch Over (SSO), Non-Stop Forwarding (NSF) and Multi-chassis EtherChannel (MEC)—that enable non-stop communication with increased bandwidth to substantially enhance application response time

正常情况下的配置应当可以实现状态化切换，否则就是配置、网络架构、软件层面有问题。

C9400X-SUP-2引擎的最低支持软件版本为17.7.1，但并非代表所有的feature都能完全支持，因为是新的引擎，部分功能的支持会稍稍滞后

查了一下配置文档，从17.9.x之后版本正式支持StackWise功能，建议选用之后版本进行设置，或联系思科获取推荐软件版本

StackWise配置时只支持单框单引擎，不支持双引擎（可参考每个版本配置文档中StackWise限制条件）

正常情况stackwise模式下其中一台设备故障并不会影响业务，除非网络设计中有单独连接其中一台设备的情况。

1、使用StackWise Virtual，是不是还得特殊的 ‘C9400-SUP-UPG-LIC’license

Cisco StackWise Virtual is supported on Cisco Catalyst 9400 Series supervisor 1 module (C9400-SUP-1) and Cisco Catalyst 9400 Series supervisor 1XL module (C9400-SUP-1XL). The feature requires a special, additional, C9400-SUP-UPG-LIC= license with Cisco Catalyst 9400 Series supervisor 1 module (C9400-SUP-1). Cisco StackWise Virtual is also supported on Cisco Catalyst 9400X series supervisor 2 module (C9400X-SUP-2) and Cisco Catalyst 9400 Series supervisor 2XL module (C9400X-SUP-2XL).

2、需要 Network Advantage license

Cisco StackWise Virtual configuration commands will be recognised only on a switch running Network Advantage license. The configuration commands will not be recognised on a Network Essentials license.

看文档中的描述是1或者1XL的引擎需要这个license，没说2/2XL是否需要，我从思科的商务平台上配置了一下9407R的设备，里面也没看到关于这个license的情况。这个还是最好打思科的支持电话确认一下吧。

2.StackWise需要Advantage的license. -A的license会比-E的多一部分feature.这个是一个硬性需求
